Christopher and Lauren
After a 5 year wait, I finally got the diamond I had been wishing for on Christmas 2010. Christopher and I set our wedding date with just over a year to plan. Planning was a fun but huge job… with input and pressure from everyone, it’s easy to forget the day is about US! In the end, we made it and it was all I could’ve wished for…
All our gorgeous photos were taken by the amazing Eon Images.
Our morning started with hair and make up, some champagne, nibbles and then some more champagne. I have never been so nervous, sick and excited at the same time. My earrings, hair clip and bracelet were purchased from Miss Martini and my clutch from Forever New.
The bouquets were one of my favourite accessories of the day, made by Poppies Flowers, a ring from each of my Nan’s were attached as my ‘Something old’.
This was the first dress I laid my eyes on when I arrived for my first appointment at Jenny & Gerry’s Bridal House, little did I know it was Cinderella #205 from Alfred Angelo’s Disney Collection. I always planned to have black bridesmaid dresses and after a few shopping trips we chose dresses from Bridal on Pulteney. After adding a purple ribbon to match the bouquets and a few alterations to the tulle they were perfect.
After this great find on Etsy, I got these personalised coat hangers made as a small surprise for my husband to be. You can find these here.
Christopher purchased and the grooms men hired their suits from Jenny and Gerry’s Suit Hire.
Our ceremony was held in the peaceful gardens at Sunnybrae Function Centre located in Regency Park, Adelaide SA.
This photo is definitely one of my favourites, we were photo bombed by a peacock! Sunnybrae Function Centre is the home of two peacocks who wander their beautiful rose-filled garden.
I designed our centrepieces inspired from hours of googling wedding table images. The plates and candles were purchased from Ikea, beading was purchased from Ebay, rose buds were bought from Poppies Flowers and heart sequins. The glitter, purchased from a craft shop, was a must to tie in perfectly with my sparkling dress.
Christopher’s nickname has been moose since he was in high school, so we couldn’t wait to surprise everyone with a moose cake. Our delicious chocolate mud cake was made by my friend Skye, Skysies Cakes, and our cake toppers were hand made by The Air Castle on Etsy.
What an amazing day filled with love, hope, friendship, promise, family and good friends. Being a wife is pretty special.
Ms Gingham says: Oh those sweet little mooses!!! So cute!
Lauren says: I was born in Mount Gambier SA, I’m 23, and I live in Adelaide with my 2 furry children, Indi and Phoenix (cats). I love holidays, spending time with my husband, shopping, cooking, mexican food & watching the footy.”
How cute are the moose! Loving the simple yet elegant centrepieces too.
