If you’ve already handcrafted some elements for your wedding, you’ll likely have a bunch of leftover supplies. Am I right? Well don’t throw them out! Use up that scrap paper and fabric, along with a few household items, in these two easy projects.
1. Fabric scrap wreath
You will need:
- Thin wire coathanger
- Fabric scraps in coordinating colours and patterns
- Scissors
- Coloured washi (paper) tape
Bend your coathanger into a circle shape. Tear your fabric into strips, starting off the tear with a small snip with the scissors. Tie the fabric strips around the wire until full. Finish off by covering the wire hook with washi tape.
2. Paper covered cutlery tins
You will need:
- Tins in various sizes, washed and dry
- Scrapbooking paper (don’t use wrapping paper as a substitute as it’s too thin)
- Double-sided tape
- Craft knife
- Ruler
- Pencil
Measure your tins and cut paper to fit. Wrap around tins using tape to secure. If the look is all a bit too ‘recycled’ for wedding taste, it would also work as a low-cost engagement party or bridal shower decorating option.
Do you have any creative project ideas that use up all those ‘craftovers’?
