Emma and Alex
“I have to admit that I although I always wanted an engagement shoot, deep down I was terrified. I had been reading wedding blogs long before I was actually engaged. I had collected pictures of inspiration and ideas that would reflect our love.
Everyone tells you what they think is the most important piece of planning your wedding, but whilst sitting there, looking at countless magazines and blog photos I’d collected… I realised something – the photographer. You spend countless hours planning large and small details for the biggest day of your life, when you are surrounded by all your friends and family, marrying the man of your dreams… the photographer is that one important person there to document your wedding day perfectly, for you to look back on for the rest of your life.
After searching online and comparing different photographer’s styles, we decided to meet with Stew of Stewart Ross Photography. We knew as soon as we walked into his office, that he was the one for us. Looking at his work, I was SO excited to work with him. The colours in the photos and the faces… so naturally effortless.
Although on that Friday afternoon in the nature reserve at the bottom of Mount Coot-tha, Brisbane, the nerves had overtaken the both of us. Nervously giggling and awkwardly following Stewart, I thought to myself… ‘what have I gotten us into…’, but within five minutes Stewart had eased our nerves and had us feeling pretty good about ourselves. We were smiling, jumping even FROLICKING in the grass. He encouraged us and had us feeling so comfortable that by the end of the shoot we thought we were models!”
“We are so pleased with the way our engagement shoot turned out. I almost feel silly for the nerves we were feeling before we did it! We now have a new chapter of our love story. The chapter of our engagement and I can’t wait until the next… OUR BIG DAY!”
Ms Gingham says: Whitney Houston Emma? Really? Oh I love that photo!!!! I can’t wait to see you two on your wedding day! Thanks so much to Emma and Alex for sharing this!
