We recently had the opportunity to travel to Italy and photograph the country. A popular overseas honeymoon destination, Italy is a well renowned romantic location. With an appealing blend of art, food and fashion, the small European nation also offers history, amazing architecture and tradition, as well as some of the most stunning and varied countryside in Europe. Culture, art and history can be found in almost every corner of the country, and blending landscape with antiquity, Italy offers diversity with its various cities that present artistic and historic surprises galore. One of our favourite places in Italy was Venice.
Venice was founded more than 1,500 years ago and the popular city of Italy is linked by a series of over 150 canals, numerous bridges and historically built pavements. Venice, like most of Italy is a city full of history and features museums, monuments, churches, theatres and markets.
Although a large city, Venice still feels like a tranquil country style town. Romantic, historic and truly extraordinary, the city itself is an architectural monument.
Being in the wedding industry and experiencing some of the most fabulous locations in Australia, it was a truly wonderful experience photographing Italy and being able to capture the country’s most spectacular scenery and countryside.
