Happy Monday Polka Dot Bridettes!

Let’s kick off our week of inspiration with a spotlight on Ms Polka Dot’s Directory! Week three of our brand new directory makes me incredibly happy – so many great new vendors are filling our pages and joining what we already believe is one of the best collections of wedding vendors around!

If you dream it, one of our vendors is able to create it! We’re slowly packing the directory full of bridal gown designers, stunning wedding venues, incredible stationers, talented hair & makeup artists and of course photographers!

I’m always a big advocate for handing over the running of your wedding day to a seasoned professional. Weddings are a big production with so many different elements and I think one of the last things a couple or their parents needs to be worrying about is the vendor timing, the wet weather plans, things going wrong and the general stress of the day. So with that, I introduce to you one of our Ms Polka Dot’s Directory members Bells n Whistles Events! Sydney planners, Bells n Whistles Events have a range of packages – from end to end planning, styling and the “SOS” package which involves working with you for three months prior to your wedding date to make sure the nitty gritty is taken care of. Owner Jennifer started the business in 2005, so has a wealth of experience under her belt and a cool, calm head to boot!

To learn a little more about Bells n Whistles Events we asked Jen five questions in five minutes!

What is your favourite after five drink?

White wine. It’s not often I get to drink with two little children but when I do, nothing beats a glass of white wine (and some peace and quiet)

Your favourite weekend getaway?

Weekend getaway…what’s that? I work most weekends of the year, even in off peak/winter months so I don’t get to ‘getaway’ really. But if I had to pretend, I’d say anywhere with kids club so my husband and I could relax! Sometimes I get to plan or coordinate destination weddings, mostly Hamilton Island – so we try to make a family trip out of it, which is pretty awesome.

Favourite restaurant?

Anything Italian!

What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?

Either banana pancakes or a big brekky of bacon, scrambled eggs, field mushrooms, baked beans and thick toast.

Your favourite wedding story?

Too many to choose from. But a recent wedding found me having to convince a guest that the Crystal Chandelier (that was the table centre piece) wasn’t hers to take home. It ended with the groom apologising to me because he thought I’d purchased them and was telling all the guests – take what you want.
It went so far as a couple of his cousins picking up each end of the hire sofas at the end of the night and wondering how they would get it home. It was a funny, but I am glad I post my staff at the doors at the end of weddings to keep certain items in the venue.
It was all good in the end and all hire items were returned 🙂 Phew!
