I’m not sure if it’s the smell of the sea air, the warm winds rushing against your skin or the endless dips in salty water that make wearing anything constrictive or uncomfortable on a beach holiday unbearable, but there’s something about feeling the warmth of the sun on your back that makes you want to spend your time living in easy breezy fabrics in the most vivid of hues.
Roopa Pemmaraju is a Melbourne-based Indian born designer who launched her label at RAFW in 2010. Her style echos her heritage and uses stunning prints, high quality fabrics like beautiful silk blends and is reminiscent of her heritage and keen eye for style. Her designs are such a perfect thing to throw into a suitcase and slip on over your swimsuit. I love garments like these that can be dressed down with flats and a belt or up for dinner with sparkly earrings and jeweled shoes.
