There is no reason anymore for a bride having to wear white. If you’re looking for something a little different, a coloured wedding gown is a beautiful way of injecting something different in your wedding day.
It doesn’t have to be over the top- a soft pink, a creamy latte (oops, clearly I need coffee!) or a pretty shade of mint. Of course, you can be bold too with sparkling silvers, vivid purples and fuchsia pinks. I think that’s what I love about wedding fashion, it’s so open, there’s so much talent out there that you’re sure to find the dress of your dreams!
I’ve been researching, putting the call out and here’s what I’ve found from Australian designers..

I love the Wendy Makin gown with the bolero! I also love that Ava Madison is featured, plus Essence Wedding Photography. Some fabulous Wedding Pros!
So much stunning fabulousness to choose from! I love that Alexis George in the bold tones (writes the woman who wored burnt orange on her own wedding day), and the dark silver by Hills in Hollywood…and the Dinnigans…and more Alexis George and the silver Willis Holmes….I could go on but won’t. I want to get married all over again so I can shop for another frock! x
Jennifer Gifford made my dress – a wonderful shade of blush pink, which I teamed with butter yellow heels! The most enchanting and wonderful dressmaker ever!

I love the earrings… fantastic!
Loved your article when I was looking for my own frock but golly, so hard to find a decent selection of coloured gowns in Australia! In the end, I had mine made by Diane Lewis – she made me a gorgeous charcoal/silvery grey and lilac tulle and satin stunner loosely based on Vera Wang’s Felicity. I got so many compliments on the dress! I have it for sale on Still White if any of your readers are thinking of trying a coloured frock.
