This week’s Vendor Of The Week is Queensland cinematographer Lumina Motion Pictures owned by husband and wife team Richelle and Shane. Wedding videos have come a long way in the past few years- today’s films are almost documentaries of the wedding day. From the first speech, to the vows and everything in between, wedding cinematography is exploring a new and beautiful way of capturing your wedding.

Lumina Motion Pictures tell the story beautifully- I’ve never watched a video of theirs without a lump rising in my throat as I watch their stories unfold. The moments are captured as they happen- the words as they roll off the tongue and the secret glances all on film.

What is your favourite after five drink?

Earl Grey tea with brie cheese and water crackers!

Your favourite weekend getaway?

Staying at home without the kids!

Favourite restaurant?

I quite like Montego’s on the Bay but my favourite would have to be a little known, locals only kind of place called Lefty’s. It’s not fancy but the food is great and the atmosphere relaxing.

What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?

Shane, my husband and business partner makes great ‘sugar free’ pancakes. They are the whole families favourite breakky (Yeah, I know the sugar free thing is a bit weird but it’s not as hard as it sounds and the pancakes really are great!).

Your favourite wedding story?

There is just too many to choose from! Our love story films give us the opportunity to film our couples telling their own love story so we get to find out all the lovely little details of how they met and fell in love. Most recently I have loved hearing about the grooms asking their father-in-law-to-be for their blessing. It can seem a bit outdated in our modern society and as women of the 21st century we don’t really feel that we need our fathers permission to marry the man we love but it is a lovely sign of respect between, often the two most important men in our lives.
