This week has been madness and I wanted to lighten up our Friday afternoons with a fun, carnival inspired inspiration shoot!
Today’s shoot comes to us from Emma Sharkey. Emma explained the inspiration behind it to me. “I view weddings as a solidification of something wonderful. A friendship journey that is going to be exciting, be full of ups and downs, and provide you with loads of laughter and fond memories. I love bright, bold, contrasting colour and I try to incorporate as much colour into my work as possible. I had been toying with the idea of offering couture bridal portraits to clients not long prior to The Royal Adelaide Show starting. The thought of taking a bride and groom to the show for a bridal portrait session was very appealing. I thought of the shoot as being my way of trying to encourage brides to think outside the square, think beyond tradition and white and really do what their heart desires. I want them to have fun, be brave, confident and fabulous on their wedding day. Doing a shoot at the show was my way of encapsulating all of the above.
After catching up with Amy and Karen at a bridal shower, one thing led to another and the three of us (Amy who was our Bride and Karen Pfeiffer, fellow photographer friend who I collaborated with) were planning a day of fabulous photos.
We were incredibly lucky with the weather, it was perfect. I approached Sam from Fabulous Functions about creating something wonderful for the shoot. They created a gorgeous bright bouquet and corsage for us to use (my only request was lots of colour). Amy wore her original wedding dress (a Calleche Creation) but also purchased a new George gown especially for the shoot (this has since become her first wedding anniversary present from Matt to Amy). Matt and Amy are a beautiful couple and are completely besotted with each other. Throughout the day they stole little “I Love You” glances from each other. It was beautiful to see and capture those moments.”
Fantastic inspiration!! A wedding at the fair would be such a fun and exciting way to start a marriage!
Lots of colour, a fantasy marriage!!
