Today’s wedding snippet is from the winner of our Planet Cake competition we ran last year! I love seeing how our winners use their prize and Indra’s wedding was so laid back and creative it was a thrill to see her cake!
Indra and Dave celebrated with their guests at Ku-Ring-Gai Scout Camp at Cumberland Reach on the Hawkesbury River. Everyone set up tents and camped for the weekend of the wedding – including the bride! Indra and Dave had all their friends and family pitch in bringing great coffee, serving cheese platters, putting together bouquets and decorating the marquee for their “ballgowns and board shorts” dress code.
Planet Cake took their dreams and made it a reality by creating a gorgeous “crazy teacup” cake. The cake expressed a lot of Indra and Dave’s personalities. The Australian bush scene, the couples two dogs and what they like to think of as their “totem” birds – the black-faced cockatoo shrikes. The entire wedding was themed around the winning cake design! Guests were given native seedlings, the flower girls wore polka dot skirts and the buttonhole flowers were just some of the polka dot inspired elements. The couple even flew to Keshett Jewellers in Melbourne especially after finding them on Polka Dot Bride to buy their wedding rings!
Congratulations Indra and Dave on your beautiful, heartfelt wedding and all the best for your marriage together! A big thank you also to Planet Cake for giving away such a brilliant prize!
What a cool cake – so creative! And I love the bush setting!
