Ainslie and Rohan
We’re visiting the Hunter Valley again this week, but today with a completely different wedding and completely different style! Today’s wedding has the most beautiful Australian touches, a painted dress and golden light. I love Fridays and I love this Friday even more when i get to deliver such beautiful weddings!
After 3 years in the UK, Ainslie and Rohan decided to holiday at a romantic island escape on their way home to Australia. Whilst enjoying a stroll along the beach one gorgeous evening, Ainslie savoured the moment amidst the beautiful surroundings and spontaneously turned to Rohan and asked him to marry her twice (the first time was a little vague!) and in place of a ring, a tropical shell was accepted.
Ainslie and Rohan are lovers of the art deco era so this became part of the theme for their wedding. As environmentalists, both Ainslie and Rohan also wanted their wedding to have a ‘green’ approach. They arranged for 100 trees to be planted to compensate for the many overseas guests traveling to the venue. And with the added desire for their guests to experience a taste of Australia, they incorporated Australian flora, wine and countryside into their wedding. Being Halloween a few special ‘treats’ were also included in the wedding

Australian native bouquets and floral arrangements were created by Jade McIntosh.
Ainslie’s gown was created by Designs By Melanie Ford.Ainslie wanted a splash of colour in her gown and Melanie suggested painting the train. Ainslie’s gown ended up featuring a beautiful hand painted silk georgette trai that perfectly tied her gown to the Australiana theme of the wedding. Ainslie’s bridesmaid wore Jigsaw while the groom was dressed in a suit from David Jones. Ainslie’s wedding day makeup was by Envy Makeup Artistry.
Ainslie and Rohan held their ceremony at Wandin Valley Estate. Each of them prepared in separate cottages on the property before the wedding and held the ceremony under the trees near the Wandin Valley cricket ground. Ainslie walked down the aisle to “Sea Of Love” by Cat Power.
Check back this afternoon for more of Ainslie and Rohan’s gorgeous Hunter Valley wedding day!
