Katie & Kevin
We shared the first part of Katie and Kevin’s elegant Sydney wedding with you last week. Now we have the reception photos to share! These have such a fun vibe about them!
Photos this morning are by gm photographics.
Katie and Kevin held their reception at Crystal Palace in Sydney’s Luna Park– which also created a great backdrop for some fun newlywed shots! Katie says Michelle at Crystal Palace made everything run perfectly on their wedding day- not only did they have a fantastic wedding but they gained a friend! Luna Park was a nod to Katie’s and Kevin love of having fun.
Katie and Kevin provided a photobooth for guests, who stick a strip into a book and wrote well wishes to the bride and groom in silver pen.
Katie and Kevin gave out “K” cookies on sticks from Cookie Couture. The table was decorated with an old photo of Katie & Kevin at Luna Park. Katie framed miniature photos of all the guests and placed them on the guest tables which were decorated with candles and mirrors.
Guests enjoyed a candy bar filled will lollies in pinks, reds and whites and decorated with special photos of their loved ones. They used sweet bags from Poppies For Grace.
Each guest was asked to RSVP with their favourite song which was played through the dinner portion of the evening.
The three tier wedding cake was topped with roses from Cookie Couture.
Katie says of their first dance “One of my most dearest and best friends is a brilliant singer. He was also one of my “bride’s mates” in my bridal party. As a surprise he got up and sang our first dance to the song that I have always wanted to have my first dance too “The way you look tonight” by Tony Bennett. It brought tears to my eyes. It was just magic. Special and one of the main highlights of the whole day. Really special moment for me.”
Katie says “We didn’t have speeches, Kevin & myself gave a speech and then we just had a massive celebration with a live band playing and everyone dancing. There is this one moment a photo of the room that shows all the tables with no one on them and everyone is on the dance floor, all ages. That moment, that photo showed me that we achieved what we wanted, it was this room full of love and everyone was just there for the same reason.”
Brown Sugar kept guests on the dance floor all night. Katie & Kevin applied a transfer to the dance floor thanking guests for their attendance.
Thank you to our newlyweds Katie & Kevin for allowing us to share their wedding day on Polka Dot Bride! Congratulations! Thank you also to gm photographics for allowing us to share the images today!

What fun wedding! I absolutely love the idea of having guests request songs and have them played throughout the evening… how thoughtful!
