The Golden Dove Ring Bearer Bowl™ is a new Paloma’s Nest piece. Edged in pure gold leaf, the gold is the Egyptian symbol for eternity while the bird, in ancient cultures, was considered to be an ancient messenger for gods and carries special and sacred messages.
The Golden Dove Ring Bearer Bowl™ has two holes with a silky satin cord for your rings or for hanging and is stamped with your choice of words. We have one Bowl to give away.
To win your own custom made, Golden Dove Ring Bearer Bowl™ simply leave a comment, poem or story on this entry, using the words ‘Birds of a feather…….’
The winner will be chosen by the Polka Dot Bride team and will be informed by Polka Dot Bride by email and announced on the Polka Dot Bride site. This competition is open worldwide. Entrants must be aged 18 or older. This competition is a game of skill; no chance enters into deciding the winner. No late entries will be considered. Birds of a feather
Stick together
Like you and I
Birds of a feather flock together because…
Just like you and me, it’s better that way.
Birds of a feather
are better together.
Hold my wing,
and we shall sing.
Birds of a feather
We’re better together
Birds of a feather
Through any kind of weather
Always stick together
…it makes both their lives better
Birds of a feather
Even in the stormiest of weather
We can smile and laugh together
We’re tough as old boots, made from leather
Like birds of a feather, you and I will soar forever.
Birds of a feather, we flock together
Soaring high and low through lifes tail winds
Migrating side by side towards our hearts warmest suns
We find shelter under the other’s wing
Lining our nest as best we can
The song of our love we sing
A haiku
Birds of a feather
Devoted to each other
Flying as one heart
Like Birds of a feather,
We will always be together
Under each other’s wings
With these rings
We birds of a feather
Will be together, forever
Having fun, Growing together;
Rocking this world like birds of a feather;
Yesterday, Tomorrow, & on this day
You’ll be mine, & that’s how we’ll stay
xx
We laugh and sing and giggle together
We truly are like birds of a feather
We’re two of a kind
He’s always on my mind.
Like birds of a feather
We’ll be forever joined together.
What was always important to note about that “Birds of a feather” saying was the fact that it was shortened. It’s true. Someone came along and decided the original wasn’t flow-ey enough. And frankly it didn’t sound quick or quippy to say…but the truth behind it is far more revealing. Here’s the original:
“Birds of a feather often drink a beer together after work
and watch cartoons on TV while laughing about their day before falling asleep in each other’s winged arms.”
Not quite as succinct as “flock.” ;*)
Birds of a feather
want to do it together
forever and ever
I was used to being alone
And wanting to be loved
Then he flew into my life
From the Emerald Isle
With a quick thinking mind
And an incredible smile
He stole my heart
Then changed my life
And now we fly together
Like Birds of a Feather
‘Birds of a Feather’ is more than just a saying, more than a phrase passed down through our ever-changing language. It’s about finding a kindred soul, somebody who understands you and will accept you as you are. It’s about sharing those special moments with somebody who will laugh and cry with you, and dream with you. It’s about finding that one person with whom you will want to build your life, and celebrate the moments that take your breath away.
The one I will marry is different to me
Its for those differences that I love him
But we are still birds of a feather
in that we will love our differences together
Birds of a feather we are not. We spar over the stories in the news, how to train our dog, and how often to clean the apartment. Lovebirds we are. We love curling up, cooking, and enjoying one another’s company.
