I have such a fun wedding for you today- a masquerade ball style wedding! Held in Newcastle,the masquerade theme was more than just for fun for Madeline and Michael.

Madeline shares why. “We decided on this theme because we both believe in equality for each other. We found that the significance of the bride being unveiled needed to be for the groom as well. This is because we are both exposing and showing our selves to each other. For the wedding only the bride and groom were masked until the vows and then at the reception our guests were masked but we were not.“

The couple went to primary school together, though different high schools. Upon graduating, their paths crossed again at a party and decided it was time to properly catch up.

You Can’t Be Serious were on hand to capture the magic of Madeline and Michael’s wedding day!

Madeline carried a bouquet of white gerberas and  purple lisianthus. A pale blue swallow brooch was pinned to her bouquet.

Madeline wore a Maggie Sottero gown and has some advice for brides yet to wed “Remember to put the hoop on first! But that’s what you have bridesmaids for, good photos but embarrassing moments! Also make a checklist for what you will need, like the ipod with the music or even shoes..but you will always have a best man to do your last minutes errands.”

The ceremony was held at St James Anglican Church in Morpeth. Madeline walked to the aisle to Sarah Blasko’s “Woman By The Well”. One of Madeline’s favourite memories was having her mother at the ceremony, she had told the couple since their engagement she might not have the strength to be there, but she made it on the day.
