Lauren and Nathan
It’s time for the last Wedding Wednesday of the year! Today’s couple gracing the pages of Polka Dot Bride and the lovely Lauren and Nathan.
It’s a glamorous Sydney celebration featuring black, white and a few touches of polka dots!
Lauren says “Nathan and I met in Year 4 in Primary School, when we were 9 years old. Our teacher, Mr Botham made us sit next to each other all year, despite moving everyone else around regularly in the class. We both had crushes on each other, but didn’t know. At the year 4 disco when the boys were leaving to go to the boy’s school, I asked Nathan to dance. It took us many years of running in the same friendship group to eventually start dating.
We tracked down our Year 4 teacher to attend our wedding as guest of honour as he was literally the person that brought us together all those years ago.”

Lauren wore nude pumps from Peeptoe Shoes.
Lauren and Nathan sent save the dates created by Fabulous Stationery (the Glamourama Too Calling Card Design) featuring a black background and gold chandelier with modern scribbles over the top and stuck a magnet on the back for guests to keep it on their fridge. The couple designed and printed their own invitations using black metallic card with white linen embossed card on top. The design featured a black chandelier.
Lauren wore Nathan’s great grandmother’s pearl earrings and her grandmother’s gold cross. Lauren’s bouquet was tied with a black polka dot ribbon and photos of her brother Aaron and grandfather – both who have passed away.
Lauren wore a soft, silk georgette gown from Lisa Ho and her veil was made my her maid of honour’s mother. Lauren’s bridesmaids wore black pumps.
The bouquets were all shades of white. Lauren and her bridesmaids made the bridesmaids bouquets using flowers Lauren and Nathan bought from the Sydney Flower Markets the day before. They tied the bouquets with black grosgrain ribbon. Lauren’s bouquet created by Floralnector, was a single flower (bouquets make her feel like she has to put them in water!) created from dozens of rose petals sewn together.
Lauren and Nathan’s dalmatian Lance was very much present in spirit on the day.
Lauren’s bridesmaids each chosen their own knee length black gown.
Lauren chose traditional black London cabs from the London Cab Company to transport everyone on the wedding day.
Lauren made the ceremony programs herself using black and white card. She tied the booklets with black and white ribbons.
The flower girls wore white broderie anglaise style dresses, with a big bow across the chest from Origami. They wore black patent shoes, a black headband from Diva and black bracelets made by an aunty, which tied them in with the rest of the bridal party. The girls carried sweet pea wreaths in the shape of hearts tied by Lauren’s dad and aunty.
Lauren and Nathan held their ceremony at St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Church Hill, Sydney. The church shares the name of the primary school Lauren and Nathan attended together. Lauren walked down the aisle to “The Arrival Of The Queen Of Sheba” but in a nod to Nathan’s love of the movie Top Gun, the most exciting song played was “The Victory Song” from the movie, played on the Church Organ.
Check back later today for Lauren and Nathan’s fun post wedding shots and their very sweet wedding cake!
