Ros and Blake
Today’s wedding is so beautifully Australian that I’m looking forward to sharing it with you! Having met at a pamper weekend where Blake was posing as a hairdresser, the couple struck up a wonderful friendship. Rosalind and Blake married in the heart of the MacDonald Valley in New South Wales and created a beautiful “nostalgic garden party” theme to their wedding day.
The wedding was held at Settlers Arms Inn in St Albans and the photographs today are by SugarLove Weddings.
Rosalind wore a gown by Hanna Couture. It featured guipure lace over a low-backed satin undergown with cap sleeves and a skirt of godet inserts. It suited Rosalind’s wish of nothing floral, shiny or satin! She wore shoes from Edward Meller.
Rosalind and her maid of honour, Sarnah created all of the flower arrangements themselves using flowers from the Sydney markets. Including a beautiful bunch of purple hydrangeas which complimented the lavender and mossy green colour scheme of the day.
Rosalind’s maid of honour wore a lavender gown from Fleur Wood.
The wedding was a largely DIY affair with Rosalind hand writing all of the invitations and her maid of honour creating tissue paper pom poms to hang from the trees.
Check back this afternoon for Rosalind and Blake’s beautiful sunset garden reception!

Absolutely flipping gorgeous. You’ve just made my week 🙂
This is such a beautiful wedding, the light and colours of the day are breathtaking!!
beautiful!
ohmygod. Have seen this wedding before and just going through the pictures again is oh so fabulous! My type of dream wedding this is. So personal and DIY inspired!
Hey Miss Polka, thank you so much for featuring our day! Just to clarify The Settlers Arms is in St Albans near Wiseman’s Ferry, not the Hunter (although it makes a lovely alternate route back to Sydney if you’ve been in that neck of the woods)… The flowers all came from the Sydney flower markets in Flemington, my mum and dad drove them up in a little van as there was no local florist – they spent the night in the pub’s cool room!

Thanks for commenting Rosalind! I love that the flowers came from the markets- just gorgeous!
Dear Rosalind,
I’m thinking of getting the same dress for my wedding with Hannah. Any advice about the dress?
Thanks!!
Natalie
Just breathtaking. I love the bride’s daring red lips instead of the muted palette that most bride’s wear. Lots of initmate details.
Thank you for featuring one of our favorite weddings today Ms Polka. Ros & Blake were truly a magical couple to work with, Leigh x
So much to adore in these beautiful photos-her sweet & sexy gown, all the wonderful DIY details, the men’s shirts…
Oh now I really want to have horses at my wedding!
I LOVE everything about this wedding – how gorgeous is the bride?
Such old-world beauty about everything in this wedding. I love it!
Stunning setting, mystical horses and old world charm…beautiful. Did you make the invites yourself?
Abby…are you referring to what I think were the programs? If so, I am very positive the image was a photograph by the artist James Welling.
Love the lavender and green colours!
