We talk a lot about how important family is around these parts, and for Nat and Dan, it was a centrepiece of their day. They included their baby boy throughout the day, used a family member to officiate their vows, even asked the bride’s grandparents to bear witness to the marriage certificate.

And as All Grown Up Weddings captured so beautifully, it resulted in a day that with its classic style and stunning location by the water (in Canberra) was warm, welcoming and so very much about love.

It’s been many years in the making for these two who tell, of their beginning. “We met at work in 2015, we were friends for the first few months and our romance grew from there.”

Dan dressed in a chic suit from MJ Bale.

Nat found her Lillian West gown at Angelic Inspirations. She had straps added to customise the gown to her dreams.

Nat and Dan chose Moxom and Whitney to style the beautiful blush and sage green floral arrangements for the day. “We had a gorgeous combination of roses and natives by the very talented Moxom and Whitney Florist in Canberra” says Nat.

“Our photographer was awesome! Seriously the best” raves the bride. “The images speak for themselves but he was also super easy going, discrete yet kept us to time in a relaxed way on the day (especially considering we had our formal photos before the ceremony).”

Nat and Dan chose The Boat House, Canberra for their wedding, basking in the aspect of the day. Nat explains “Our Ceremony was held late in the afternoon, on the grounds of The Boat House, overlooking Lake Burley Griffin.” Nat walked down the aisle to an acoustic version of “How Long Will I Love You” by Elle Golding (performed live by Baker Boys Band,). It was a bit windy (sorry guests) but otherwise sunny.”

The couple were married by a relative. Says the bride “We were lucky enough to have a real-live as our celebrant, our son Hunter walk down the aisle with his Aunty and Nat’s Nan and Pop be our witnesses on our marriage certificate – all emotional and beautiful aspects to our day. It was a short and sweet ceremony, with meaningful yet humorous vows and two poems read, one by our niece and one by a close friend.”

Nat and Dan chose Nat’s nan and pop as the witnesses on their marriage certificate.

“We were very lucky to have so so many amazing vendors who went above and beyond to help make our day so special” notes Nat. “The three that stand out the most are The Boat House (impeccable service, food, views and setting), our photographer Thommo from All Grown Up Weddings (the photographs speak for themselves, just amazing), and our band The Baker Boys Band (boy, did they bring the energy and party vibes!).”

The first dance, performed live by Baker Boys Band, remains a favourite memory of Nat and Dan. The bride remembering  “We danced to “In Case You Didn’t Know” by Brett Young (played by the oh so talented Baker Boys Band). Not ones to like the limelight for too long we danced just us for not quite half the song and then called up our bridal party, and family to join us.”

A big congratulations to you both Nat and Dan. What an utter delight it was to be able to share your day. Thank you both and thank you to All Grown Up Weddings for sharing today’s celebration with us.
