Poppies and sparkles and laughter and love, my my my, Fridays never looked so good! Steph and Andrea celebrated their nuptials in the most festive of ways – on one of Melbourne’s favourite rooftops, after a wander through the city streets. Thanks to Oli at Briars Atlas this is a wedding story full of merriment, full of cheer, and full of everything we need to kick off a weekend!

It was over fine Italian dining that these two first met. “Andrea was working in an Italian restaurant and served Steph wine. That was enough!” Andrea popping the question on a seaside weekend trip. Andrea hid the ring for 6 months before he popped the question, on a weekend trip to Sorrento. He was super nervous but of course, Steph said yes straight away.”

That glittering gold gown? Steph found it at Rachel Gilbert.

Steph and Andrea met before their ceremony for a first look and photographs.

There was nothing but rave reviews by these two for their photographer. “Oli was really easy and professional to deal with. He blended into the day without us even noticing the great snaps he took!”

Steph and Andrea chose Melbourne favourite The Prince Deck for their rooftop wedding, noting  “We loved that we could have our ceremony on the beautiful Deck, and not leave the venue so we could continue the celebrations. The fresh oysters and champagne after the ceremony were delicious!”

The bride walked down the aisle, hand in hand with her parents to “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” performed live by Little Buster Brown.

Steph and Andrea wanted a ceremony that was “intimate and casual”, the couple choosing Koren Harvey to make it official, Steph tells “We made it short and sweet so we could get to canapés and champagne and dancing! We wrote our own vows, which was a highlight (one vow had Andrea promising to make my meringues for life!”

“Koren our celebrant is a dear family friend of mine,” remarks the bride. “She made the ceremony so special and personal. Loads of our friends commented on how great she was.”

And those beautifully bright blooms? They were the work of Pomp and Splendour. Steph sharing  “We wanted bright and poppy with loads of colour, and a big green installation under the marquee on The Deck.”

Steph’s favourite parts of the day? “My brother Christian provided hilarity as the MC of the night. It was also very special to have Andrea’s parents come over from Italy for the event and some close friends make the big journey too.”

The dance floor was a definite highlight of this wedding. “Our wedding band Little Buster Brown was so wonderful to deal with and played some awesome party tunes to get everyone dancing and having a ball.”

Steph and Andrea – hip hip hooray! Congratulations on your marriage and thank you for sharing the stories of your day with us. Thank you also to Briars Atlas for sharing today’s celebration with us!
