Eva & Albert

Weddings, are at their very core are all about romance and the wedding of Eva and Albert? Oh, it has romance in abundance. From the dreamy blush pink floral details to the venue, being where these two spent much of their time together. It was sentimental, it was love-filled, and it was exactly what Eva and Albert wanted “Our wedding was very easy going,” admits the bride “we wanted the whole day to be as relaxed as possible.”

The pair chose  Amelia Claire Fine Art Photography.  Amelia’s stunning fine art style just the complement this story needed (and a beautiful addition as we share it today!)

It was a mutual friend that had a hunch that Eva and Albert would be a good match, tells the bride. “Albert and I went to the same church and university together. We knew of each other for a few years but it was only when one of Albert’s close friends suggested us to each other when we started to consider each other differently. Three years later and we’re married!”

Albert proposed in the most romantic of ways, Eva reminiscing “Albert arrived at my door with a special bunch of Deborah Hayes flowers. He had a playlist of our favourite songs playing in the background and asked me if I would like to come on a date with him. Arriving at the picnic at Yellagonga park there were petal-shaped notes scattered all over the ground, each of them written with a favourite memory of ours. Before proposing he held my hands and told me why he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and then got down on one knee. The scenery was perfectly intimate, quiet and still, I remember it felt like a dream.”

Everything about this wedding was romantic, even the way the day started! Eva reminisces “Albert and I wrote each other letters to read the morning of the wedding. I’m not sure about him but I couldn’t get through mine without shedding a few tears early in the morning.”

Eva chose a long-sleeve lace gown by designer Grace Loves Lace. “I always imagined getting married in a dress that had long lace sleeves and a high neck.” She says “I found the perfect dress at Grace Loves Lace. When I wore it I felt elegant and confident. I knew it was ‘the one’ as soon as I tried it on and still remember how excited I was to wear it on the day.”

The ceremony was held at Yellagonga National Park “The location of our wedding was by far our favourite detail of the day. Albert grew up in Woodvale and we have spoken about raising a family there. It was really sentimental that we had so much history in that location before tying the knot together. When we think back on our day there’s not a thing we would change.”

Eva’s mum and sister made a feather string garland that hung in the trees during the ceremony.

Albert chose a classic black suit and bow tie from Politix. Eva shares “Albert is a country boy at heart, so he purchased himself his first pair of RM Williams specially made for the wedding. He paired his shoes with a classic black suit tailored to fit.”

The bride chose a live version of Elle Goulding’s “How Long Will I Love You” to walk down the aisle. “We asked Albert’s cousin Samika to sing this song live with soft acoustic instrumental.”

Of the ceremony, Eva shares “Albert and I wanted the ceremony to be stress-free and peaceful. We wanted the location to be as natural and unchanged as possible.”

“It’s okay to ask for help!” advises Eva for couples yet to walk down the aisle. “Albert and I asked many of our friends and family to help on the wedding day, this meant that we had nothing to think about except getting married. We decided long before the wedding that if the weather was bad or something went wrong, we would just smile and know at the end of the day we would be husband and wife and that’s all that mattered.”

Let’s talk flowers, Eva and Albert hired Blooms Of Eden to style their wedding day blooms.  “Blooms of Eden was so enjoyable to work with, they organised the most beautiful bouquets within our price range, when I saw the bouquets for the first time, I was shocked with how amazing they were. The whole process seemed effortless and easy.”

Of the couple’s chosen photographer, Eva and Albert could not have been happier. “We were lucky enough to have a photographer that we knew for our wedding. Albert and I felt so comfortable with Amelia, with all the nerves on the wedding day it can be hard to remember what is happening next. Amelia helped make sure we were running on time to ceremony and reception, she knew exactly how to manage a large bridal party and we were so happy with the photos we had taken, they were exactly what we imagined.”

As the sun started to set, guests headed to Bayside Kitchen for the sit-down reception. Eva sharing “Albert and I both studied at UWA, and on occasion, we would go for lunch at this beautiful restaurant called bayside kitchen across from campus. One day while having lunch I mentioned this would be a wonderful location for a wedding reception. Then when the time came Albert made one phone call and we were booked in.”

“Every speech that night was so well presented and meaningful” remembers the bride.

A big congratulations to you both Eva and Albert! What a beautiful story to share. Thank you also to Amelia Claire Fine Art Photography for sharing today’s images with us.
