In today’s ode to The Invitation Issue, we’re heading to the beautiful historic venue of The Rift, Bowral, a stunning historic Victorian Italianate mansion that sits in its age-old gardens.

One of the most difficult things, to master on your wedding day, is to pay homage to the space you’re in, to allow it to envelop you, to embrace your surrounds, rather than compete or detract from them. With the grace of the historic venue as their backdrop, stylist Sandra Chau Design and floral designer Gathered Floral created a lush, romantic look, that was only enhanced by its beautiful setting. Captured effortlessly on film by We Are Origami Photography our model, dressed in a suitably romantic Jennifer Gifford gown, styled with a loose up-do and dropped romantic waves by Michelle Cato, the team created a look inspired by florist Catherine’s love of “wild and free floral design executed in a classic colour palette”. The flowers kept simple and classic with ivory and green tones, to complement the historic garden backdrop.

And of course, since it’s The Invitation Issue we need to talk about the stationery. Theoberry Stationery creating a beautiful suite on handmade paper (with beautiful torn edges) and simple black calligraphy. The suite finished with the lightest wash of colour, in style with the classic, but whimsical style of how the editorial came to life.
