Happy Monday Dotties! After a busy week of planning, head colds and email issues last week I am ready for another week! Did you get up to anything fun over the weekend?
Before we kick off our own week of happy wedding inspiration it’s time to highlight, spotlight and show off the members of Ms Polka Dot’s Directory. We have Venues, we have Flowers, we have Cakes, we even have Bridal Gowns! We work really hard to get vendors on board who are lovely – they’re excited to share a cup of tea and help you plan the best wedding day possible!
Check out Ms Polka Dot’s Directory for wedding vendors who will love your wedding as much as you!
Sharing your story, working with people to craft the perfect ceremony that is unique and heartfelt, who feel that it is an honour and a privilege to guide you through your ceremony – now that’s what we love about marriage celebrants! Amanda from Splendid Ceremonies is all this and more. Located in Melbourne and servicing all areas of Victoria, Amanda believes that your ceremony can be as simple or as elegant and romantic as you wish – just share your dreams and your ceremony will be everything you hope for!
We asked Amanda of Splendid Ceremonies five questions in five minutes –
What is your favourite after five drink?
For me, a lovely crisp New Zealand Sav. Blanc is hard to beat.
Your favourite weekend getaway?
As a marriage celebrant, many of my weekends are spent performing weddings so a weekend getaway is a rare treat. Anywhere I get to spend time with my family is always my favourite place!
Favourite restaurant?
We are very spoilt for choice in Melbourne, so it’s hard to pinpoint just one. But I recently discovered a new tapas restaurant in North Brighton called La Cinque Terre that has a delicious mix of Spanish and Italian cuisine.
What can we find you eating for breakfast on a Sunday morning?
Many Sunday mornings I am meeting with upcoming wedding couples, helping plan their special day, so breakfast is often just vegemite on toast. But when I do have the time, nothing beats my lovely husband’s poached eggs.
Your favourite wedding story?
Over the past six years I have had the privilege of celebrating hundreds of weddings, each of them special in their own way. From elopements to surprise weddings (for the guests!) to weddings in gardens, wineries and beautiful old chapels, every one of them has been an absolute privilege to be a part of. But the wedding that will always hold a very special place in my heart is the very first wedding I performed as an authorised marriage celebrant – that of my lovely niece and her gorgeous husband. The ceremony was held at the Vibe Hotel in Spencer Street, Melbourne and I was incredibly nervous – so much so that I don’t think my knees stopped shaking for hours afterwards!! Knowing that I had the total support of my beautiful family, the ceremony went off perfectly. Many of the guests were unaware that it had been my first wedding and everyone told me how much they had enjoyed it. And to my complete surprise, the Vibe’s function co-ordinator later told me that it was the best wedding she had witnessed!!
