Melanie & Jordan

I love the feeling of today’s shoot, it’s dreamy, romantic and so very sweet. Taking place in the Barossa Valley it’s shot by Life In Still Photography with flowers by Poppies Flowers and paper treats by Jo from Misiu.

Melanie tells the story of her and Jordan, and of why they chose the elements they did for their engagement memories.  “Jordan and I met when his cousin married one of my closest friends and we have now been dating for two years. Jordan lives in the Barossa Valley on his families Estate and I live in Mildura in Nsw and so its kind of been a tough one to see each other all the time, we do, but its not everyday unfortunately. Jordan took me to a fancy restaurant in the Adelaide Hills one night and I was sure he was going to pop the question but he didnt! Then when I least expected it he asked me to marry him when we were in Glenelg just spending time together and it was really nice and relaxed and I loved that! “

“I wanted our engagement photos near Jordan’s place in the Barossa Valley because I love the area and every time I drive past the forest on my way to visit Jordan I would dream of having photos there! Once I booked in Bree from Life In Still Photography I told her of my dreams for the shoot and together we brought them life, I had the tee pee idea in my mind for a while and we used some of Jordan’s mums old lace as the covers and of course some flowers to brighten it up.”

“Bree organised some flowers from Poppies Flowers in Adelaide – my beautiful posy with Peonies all the way from Holland and of course Jordan’s very cute button hole. Then for something a little different we had some pinwheels made.”

The day ended with one last special touch, Melanie explains. “Bree had an idea that we could write a love note to each other about the way we feel for each other and she has them sealed up and in a safe place and plans to send them to us the week we get married so we can open them the night before we say I-DO!!!

I just loved this idea and its a little piece of the excitement in the lead up to the wedding that we are looking forward to. We will be getting married in Gol Gol in my home town in NSW and it will be a beautiful family & friends affair. With lots of home decorating and earthy, rustic styling and we are so looking forward to it and loving all the planning in the lead up to the big day! A big thank you to Bree for photographing our Engagement and blowing us away with her style and creativity.”
