Once in a while a venue comes into my inbox that blows my socks off and although The Green Cathedral is not new, it never loses it’s ability to completely wow me. Today’s venue is located in Pacific Palms, a mere three hour drive from Sydney (and ten minutes south of Forster) and is a gorgeous tropical backdrop for a Summer wedding.

Saying your vows under the green canopy of trees, in the open air cathedral on the shores of Wallis Lake has something a little magical about it. The cathedral was built in the 1922 as a place of worship and even survived a massive bushfire in 1957. Guests can watch your vows from the natural timber pews and as for decorations? While you could decorate ’til your hearts content, the beauty of this venue lies in it’s natural splendour.

Located just a short walk from The Green Cathedral is the newly refurbished lakeside reception venue which can hold 250 guests (and has no noise restrictions!) for cocktail functions or 160 for a sit down reception. Weddings have use of the building (including a commercial kitchen) and wide green lawn flanked by cabbage trees.

The venue can also provide accommodation for your wedding guests, with guests receiving discounted rates and treats such as champagne or a cheese platter on arrival.
