Lucie and Eric

We’re rounding out Thursday with a simple and beautiful Sydney wedding. I love tradition and today’s celebration is full of traditional touches with a couple who are beautifully in love.

Lucie recalls how she and Eric met. “We met at a colleague’s farewell drinks – it was love at first sight!”

Photos today are by Nerida McMurray Photography. Nerida always captures image simply beautifully- clean, crisp and fresh.

Eric and the groomsmen wore suits from All The Rage Formalwear.

The stationery was created by Fine Invitations.

Lucie and Eric were married at Loreto Kirribilli Chapel. Lucie explains, “The chapel  holds a special place for the women in our family as we all attended Loreto, Kirribilli.”

Lucie and her bridesmaids had their look styled by Gorgeous Hair and Make-Up.

Lucie donned a strapless gown by Rhonda Hemmingway Couture with Alan Pinkus shoes while her bridesmaids wore vivid blue strapless gowns from Roseville Bridal. Plumbago Flowers created creamy, fluffy bouquets for the occasion.

Lucie walked down the aisle to Pachelbel’s Canon In D.

Lucie describes the wedding as “A traditional, simple, elegant wedding that everyone enjoyed.”

Of their photographer, Lucie says “Nerida is a lovely person and a fabulous photographer. She made everyone feel comfortable and captured the spirit of our wedding perfectly”

Lucie and Eric held their reception at The Tea Rooms QVB. Luci recalls “The Tea Room was stunning and the service was brilliant. Natalie Hughes (event Manager) and the staff at the Tea room went out of their way to ensure that our day was perfect. ”

A two tier beautiful wedding cake was created by Faye Cahill, Lucie says “I loved the cake – because you cannot have a party without cake!”

For their first dance, Lucie says “We danced toBeyoncé’s version of ‘At Last’. We had attended dance lessons after work and had practiced…very little in fact. I thought after 6 lessons we were doing quite well (for the little practice that we had done). We were able to keep in time with the music and remember the 5most simple steps. On the night of the wedding, the music started and we commenced our dance. We were doing well up until the point where I had to walk backwards in my dress and realised this was not possible. We were stuck in a corner with no place to go. I then burst out laughing and we went free stylin’…”

Congratulations on your new life together Lucie and Eric! Thank you for sharing your day with us on Polka Dot Bride! Thank you also to Nerida McMurray Photography for sharing today’s images!
