Rachel and Daniel

Sunshine and prettiness is just the ticket for a gloomy Saturday- Our groom Daniel proposed during a picnic so it seemed the appropriate way to celebrate their engagement photos!  Nerida McMurray sent over today’s lovely photographs!

Rachel says “We first met when Rachel was 13 and Daniel was 16. We met through Rachel’s brother as Daniel and James went to school together. Throughout the next 2 years, Rachel and Daniel struck up a close friendship.

Two years later, in October 1998, it all began. Lots of flowers, lots of movies, lots of dinners, lots of jewellery, a helicopter, two formals, a ‘schoolies’ cruise, a uni graduation…and 9 years later…the PROPOSAL!

It was Rachel’s 24th birthday and Daniel had organised a picnic  at Palm Beach, a snazzy hotel suite, cocktails and a romantic dinner. Rachel had no idea what was coming! Towards the end of the evening, Daniel got down on one knee and popped THE question that everyone had been waiting for…Of course, Rachel said yes! The night ended with Daniel having organised a CD with 10 of our favourtite songs to dance to back in the hotel suite with a dozen red rozes and some French champagne waiting for us celebrate!

When our photographer Nerida McMurray told us about the pre-wedding photo shoot and gave us the idea of a picnic shoot, Rachel could not wait to theme it all. I loved the idea of a vintage inspired photo session, so I used my Mum’s china set, complimented with flowers, a wicker picnic basket, lots of yummy food and even a real vintage 1950’s Californian dress! We had so much fun on the shoot and the photos that Nerida took are absolutely gorgeous.”
